Mulhouse-Habsheim (LFGB) airfield is located 18km north of Bâle-Mulhouse-Fribourg International Airport, between Habsheim and Rixheim, in Alsace.
IWe will remember the sad outcome of flight AF296 (Airbus A320) on June 26, 1988. During an air show, the aircraft had to make a low altitude pass over the aerodrome. The plane crashed into the trees and ended up in the forest, causing the death of three people.
The airfield is equipped with a paved runway (1000 m) and a grass runway (1000 m) both oriented 02/20 as well as a grass runway (500m) oriented 16/34 (reserved for home-based ULM).
Mulhouse-Habsheim airfield is an uncontrolled airfield since 2012, open to public air traffic.
